In Friday's league match, the host Salem Wildcats football squad scored a close 58-52 triumph over the Mount Olive Pirates.

The Wildcats (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS). The Bobcats come into the 1A Region 7 match with a 6-3 record. In their last match, Bogue Chitto tipped West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS), 46-10, in a league match.

Next up, the Pirates play the West Lincoln Bears (Brookhaven, MS) in a 1A Region 7 battle, on Thursday, October 30. Mount Olive will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Bears go into the battle with a 1-8 record after their 46-10 league loss to Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS).
