In Friday's league match, the host Gruver Greyhounds football squad scored a decisive 56-0 triumph over the Vega Longhorns.

The Greyhounds (9-0) will now prepare for their match against Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Steers come into the 2A-2 Region I District 1 match with a 4-4 record. In their last match, Farwell routed Vega (Vega, TX), 28-14, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Longhorns confront the Stratford Elks (Stratford, TX) in a 2A-2 Region I District 1 match, on Friday, November 1. Vega will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Elks come into the match with a 4-3 record after their 63-0 league win over Bovina (Bovina, TX).
