The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the host Rocky River Ravens (Mint Hill, NC), witnessed Independence's football squad wallop Rocky River by a count of 44-0.

The Patriots (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs enter the Southwestern 4A contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Butler was routed by Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC), 34-14, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Ravens confront the Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 4A contest, on Friday, November 1. Rocky River will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 0-9 record after their 76-0 league loss to Providence (Charlotte, NC).
