Texas High School Football - Ropes can't hold off Sundown

October 25, 2024: Sundown, TX 79372

Sundown Roughnecks (Sundown, TX) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Ropes Eagles (Ropesville, TX), 28-21 in a league battle.

With the win, Sundown improves its record to 3-5 on the season. The Roughnecks travel to Tahoka (Tahoka, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A-2 Region I District 3 battle on Friday, November 1. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 6-2. Tahoka won 46-6 in their recent league battle against Plains (Plains, TX)

The Eagles now have a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Seagraves for a 2A-2 Region I District 3 battle on Friday, November 1. Ropes will play a Eagles team coming off a 30-8 league win over Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 5-3.
