Tennessee High School Football - Walker Valley sneaks past McMinn County

October 27, 2023: Athens, TN 37303

The Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN) football nudged the host McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), 17-14 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Campbell County Cougars (Jacksboro, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 3. Walker Valley will attempt to move on its 8-2 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 4-6 record after their 55-28 league loss to Oak Ridge (Oak Ridge, TN).

The Cherokees (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against Clinton (Clinton, TN). The Dragons enter the non-league bout with a 4-6 record. In their last bout, Clinton held off Heritage (Maryville, TN), 47-35, in a non-league bout.
