The Mount Airy Granite Bears football squad scored 34 points and limited the host East Wilkes Cardinals to 28 in the Granite Bears non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Granite Bears now hold a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Starmount for a non-league test on Thursday, October 10. Mount Airy will meet a Rams squad coming off a 14-0 non-league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Rams record now stands at 5-0.

With the defeat, East Wilkes drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Elkin (Elkin, NC) to meet the Buckin' Elks in a non-league test on Thursday, October 10. The Buckin' Elks come into the test with a record of 2-3. Elkin lost 36-15 in their recent non-league test against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
