In Friday's league match, the visiting Cahokia Comanches football squad scored a good 42-18 triumph over the Mt. Vernon Rams.

The Comanches (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Orphans come into the South Seven match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Centralia defeated Marion (Marion, IL), 55-28, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Rams meet the Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 10. Mt. Vernon will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Warriors go into the battle with a 0-6 record after their 49-13 non-league loss to Carbondale (Carbondale, IL).
