Texas High School Football - Vernon tops Iowa Park

October 31, 2025: Vernon, TX 76384

The Vernon Lions football squad scored 28 points and limited the visiting Iowa Park Hawks to 14 in the Lions league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Peaster for a 3A-1 Region I District 4 test on Friday, November 7. Vernon will meet a Greyhounds squad coming off a 36-7 league win over Boyd (Boyd, TX). The Greyhounds record now stands at 8-1.

The Hawks (3-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Bowie (Bowie, TX). The Jackrabbits go into the 3A-1 Region I District 4 challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Bowie lost by Vernon (Vernon, TX), 38-17, in a league challenge.
