The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Briarwood Christian Lions (Birmingham, AL) and the host Corner Yellow Jackets (Warrior, AL), witnessed Briarwood Christian's football squad knock off Corner by a tally of 31-6.

The Lions (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against John Carroll Catholic (Birmingham, AL). The Cavaliers enter the 5A Region 5 contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, John Carroll Catholic was toppled by Wenonah (Birmingham, AL), 30-15, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Yellow Jackets battle the Hayden Wildcats (Hayden, AL) in a 5A Region 5 contest, on Friday, October 11. Corner will attempt to better on its 5-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 2-5 record after their 44-0 league loss to Ramsay (Birmingham, AL).
