Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, AL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL), 34-19 in a league battle.

With the win, Cherokee improves its record to 5-2 on the season. The Indians travel to Shoals Christian (Florence, AL) to play the Flame in a 1A Region 7 battle on Friday, October 11. The Flame go into the battle with a record of 0-6. Shoals Christian lost 50-0 in their recent league battle against Meek (Arley, AL)

The Bears now have a 1-5 record. They play next when they host Hackleburg for a 1A Region 7 battle on Friday, October 11. Phillips will play a Panthers team coming off a 46-0 league win over Vina (Vina, AL). The Panthers record now stands at 6-0.
