Valley Christian Lions (Roseville, CA) boosters were content Saturday as they observed their football squad nudge the host Encina Bulldogs (Sacramento, CA), 22-16 in a league match.

The Lions (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Foresthill (Foresthill, CA). The Wildfires come into the Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League (8 Man) match with a 5-0 record. In their last match, Foresthill tipped Valley (Sacramento, CA), 24-6, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Bulldogs play the Mira Loma Matadors (Sacramento, CA) in a Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League (8 Man) challenge, on Thursday, October 9. Encina will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Matadors go into the challenge with a 5-0 record after their 80-26 league win over San Juan (Citrus Heights, CA).
