In Saturday's non-league test, the California Pintos (California, MO) softball team nipped the visiting North Callaway Thunderbirds (Kingdom City, MO), by a margin of 6-5.

The Pintos now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jamestown for a non-league outing on Monday, October 6. California will encounter a team coming off a 9-6 non-league win over Higbee (Higbee, MO). The record now stands at 2-1.
