October 5, 2021: Newland, NC 28657 The Avery County Vikings volleyball team (Newland, NC), went down 2-0 in Tuesday's league challenge with the visiting Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC)
The Cougars (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Mitchell defeated Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 2-1, in a league challenge.
Next, the Vikings encounter the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a challenge, on Thursday, October 7. Avery County will attempt to move on its 1-2 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 1-9 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC).
