Illinois High School Volleyball - Johnston City tips Murphysboro

October 5, 2024: Murphysboro, IL 62966

In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Johnston City Indians volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Murphysboro Red Devils.

The Indians (13-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Goreville (Goreville, IL). The Blackcats enter the Black Diamond West challenge with a 12-6 record. In their last challenge, Goreville was tipped by Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Red Devils meet the Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio challenge, on Tuesday, October 8. Murphysboro will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 12-10 record after their 2-1 league win over Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL).
