In Friday's league match, the host Freer Buckaroos football squad scored a good 33-7 victory over the Santa Maria Cougars.

In their next game, the Buckaroos clash with the Premont Cowboys (Premont, TX) in a 2A-1 Region IV District 16 match, on Friday, October 13. Freer will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Cowboys enter the match with a 2-3 record after their 20-7 league loss to Ben Bolt (Ben Bolt, TX).
