October 6, 2025: Downey, CA 90242 St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators (Hawthorne, CA), 3-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy improves its record to 12-12 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to St. Bernard (Playa del Rey, CA) to play the Vikings in a Santa Fe challenge on Tuesday, October 7. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 2-9. St. Bernard lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Ramona Convent (Alhambra, CA)
Next, the Aviators play the Hawthorne Cougars (Hawthorne, CA) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, October 8. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy will attempt to advance on its 6-11 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 1-14 record after their 3-1 league loss to Lawndale (Lawndale, CA).
