In Friday's league match, the host Cathedral City Lions football squad scored a close 19-18 victory over the Banning Broncos.

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs (Thermal, CA) in a Desert Valley match, on Friday, October 14. Cathedral City will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record.
