In Friday's league match, the visiting Manchester Lancers football squad scored a close 23-22 victory over the L.C. Bird Skyhawks.

In their next game, the Lancers clash with the Midlothian Trojans (Midlothian, VA) in a Dominion match, on Friday, October 14. Manchester will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 6-0 record after their 49-0 league win over Huguenot (Richmond, VA).

The Skyhawks (4-2) will now prepare for their match against Wythe (Richmond, VA). The Bulldogs enter the Dominion match with a 0-5 record. In their last match, Wythe was nudged by Clover Hill (Midlothian, VA), 38-24, in a league match.
