The Porter Ridge Pirates football team (Indian Trail, NC), was beaten 31-3 in Friday's league challenge with the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

The Warriors (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Spartans come into the 4A West Conference 58 challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, Sun Valley achieved victory over Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 28-0, in a league challenge.

The Pirates now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cuthbertson for a 4A West Conference 58 challenge on Friday, October 14. Porter Ridge will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 44-0 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-5.
