In Friday's league game, the Smith Center Redmen (Smith Center, KS) football team smashed the visiting Republic County Buffaloes (Belleville, KS), by a score of 48-7.

The Redmen (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Sacred Heart (Salina, KS). The Knights come into the North Central AA game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Sacred Heart was ripped by Wabaunsee (Alma, KS), 42-7, in a non-league game.

The Buffaloes now sport a 0-6 record. They take the field next when they host Ellis for a non-league game on Friday, October 14. Republic County will battle a Railroaders team coming off a 36-28 non-league loss to Oakley (Oakley, KS). The Railroaders record now stands at 1-5.
