New Mexico High School Soccer - Bernalillo nudges Highland
October 7, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87108 Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) fans were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Spartans confront the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, October 10. Bernalillo will attempt to better on its 7-7 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 2-1 league loss to Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM).
The Hornets now have a 11-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Pius X for a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, October 10. Highland will confront a Sartans team coming off a 1-0 league win over Valencia (Los Lunas, NM). The Sartans record now stands at 11-2.
