The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Catholic Central Cougars (Grand Rapids, MI) and the visiting Portage Central Mustangs (Portage, MI), saw Catholic Central's volleyball squad beat Portage Central by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Catholic Central upgrades its record to 20-13 on the year. The Cougars host Thornapple Kellogg (Middleville, MI) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 3-11.

The Mustangs now own a 10-27 record. They play next when they travel to Central for a Southwest Michigan - East bout on Wednesday, October 11. Portage Central will play a Bearcats squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-12.
