The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) and the visiting North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS), saw Newton County's volleyball squad beat North Pontotoc by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Newton County upgrades its record to 29-4 on the year. The Cougars travel to Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS) to play the Braves in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 13-7. Tishomingo County won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Louisville (Louisville, MS)

The Vikings now own a 4-21 record.
