Ohio High School Volleyball - Olentangy Liberty overwhelmed by Northview
October 7, 2023: Sylvania, OH 43560 In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Northview Wildcats volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Olentangy Liberty Patriots.
The Wildcats (12-7) will now prepare for their battle against Whitmer (Toledo, OH). The Panthers come into the Northern Lakes battle with a 6-13 record.
Next, the Patriots clash with the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats (Hilliard, OH) in a Ohio Capital - Central battle, on Tuesday, October 10. Olentangy Liberty will attempt to advance on its 10-10 season record. The Wildcats come into the battle with a 8-12 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Worthington Kilbourne (Columbus, OH).
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - As the final week of the regular season approaches and the OHSAA Tournament begins, this was a great non-conference match that was all Northview in the end with the straight set victory to move to 12-7 overall.
Leading for Northview was sophomore outside hitter, Tali Twigg with 10 kills, hitting .471 and Natalie Kerchevall with 10 kills, hitting .300. The Cats also received kills from Claire Smith (7), Hannah Davis (7), Frankie Ramsdell-Washington (5), Zoe Denny (4), Hannah Schoen (3) and Claire Swartz (1). Schoen added 22 assists and Kerchevall provided 14 to an offense that had 47 kills, hitting .389. Defensively, the Cats received digs from Jordyn Pakulski (15), Schoen (11), and Davis (10) and 53 total for the team. Northview passed a 2.0 for the match and added 7 aces, 4 of them from Paige LaBudda.
The Cats return to play on Tuesday at home vs. Whitmer in their 1st Annual Silent Set Night.
