Virginia High School Football - Franklin County topples Staunton River
October 8, 2021: Moneta, VA 24121 The Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA) football defeated the host Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 21-10 in Friday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Eagles face the Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) in a Blue Ridge bout, on Friday, October 15. Franklin County will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Terriers enter the bout with a 0-5 record after their 26-12 league loss to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA).
The Golden Eagles (2-2) will now prepare for their bout against Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings enter the non-league bout with a 2-4 record. In their last bout, Northside defeated Fleming (Roanoke, VA), 34-33, in a league bout.
