In Saturday's non-league contest, the Friona Chieftans (Friona, TX) volleyball squad were winner over the visiting Portales Rams (Portales, NM), by a margin of 3-1.

Next up, the Chieftans face the Bushland Falcons (Bushland, TX) in a 3A Region I District 1 contest, on Tuesday, October 11. Friona will attempt to upgrade on its 17-12 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 30-4 record after their 3-0 league win over River Road (Amarillo, TX).
