The Bassett Bengals football squad (Bassett, VA), was outscored 48-20 in Thursday's non-league contest with the visiting George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA)

The Eagles (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets enter the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Halifax County was outscored by King William (King William, VA), 21-10, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bengals confront the Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, October 16. Bassett will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 4-0 record after their 32-0 non-league win over Staunton River (Moneta, VA).
