October 9, 2025: Hudson, NC 28638 The Watauga Pioneers felled the host South Caldwell Spartans football team by a score of 33-14 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Pioneers meet the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a test, on Thursday, October 16. Watauga will attempt to move on its 6-0 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 4-3 record after their 50-0 league win over McDowell (Marion, NC).
With the defeat, South Caldwell drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to meet the Patriots in a non-league test on Thursday, October 16. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 3-3. Freedom won 30-22 in their recent non-league test against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC)
