Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) and the visiting Elk Lake Warriors (Dimock, PA), observed Valley View's volleyball team hold off Elk Lake by a count of 3-2.

The Cougars (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Mid Valley (Throop, PA). The Spartans enter the Lackawanna battle with a 3-11 record.

The Warriors now own a 1-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Blue Ridge for a Lackawanna battle on Friday, October 10. Elk Lake will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA). The Raiders record now stands at 14-1.
