In Friday's non-league game, the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) football team smashed the visiting East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC), by a score of 40-6.

The Pirates (7-3) will now prepare for their game against Lakewood (Roseboro, NC). The Leopards come into the non-league game with a 9-2 record. In their last game, Lakewood overwhelmed Northwest Halifax (Littleton, NC), 60-16, in a non-league game.

The Gators now sport a 2-9 record.
