The Benjamin Russell Wildcats thwarted the visiting Lanier Poets football team by a count of 39-12 in Thursday's non-league outing.

With the win, Benjamin Russell upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Hueytown (Hueytown, AL) to confront the Golden Gophers in a non-league outing on Friday, November 17. The Golden Gophers go into the outing with a record of 8-3. Hueytown won 14-0 in their recent non-league outing against Theodore (Theodore, AL)

With the loss, Lanier moves to 5-6 on the season.
