Covington Lions (Covington, LA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA), 33-9 in a league battle.

With the win, Covington improves its record to 8-1 on the season. The Lions host St. Paul's (Covington, LA) to play the Wolves in a 5A District 6 battle on Friday, November 8. The Wolves go into the battle with a record of 7-2. St. Paul's won 30-28 in their recent league battle against Mandeville (Mandeville, LA)

The Green Wave now have a 2-7 record. They play next when they host Hammond for a 5A District 6 battle on Friday, November 8. Ponchatoula will play a Tornadoes team coming off a 19-14 non-league win over Salmen (Slidell, LA). The Tornadoes record now stands at 5-4.
