In Friday's non-league game, the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) football team were victorious over the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), by a tally of 39-13.

In their next game, the Maroon Devils face the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A game, on Friday, November 8. Swain County will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Black Knights enter the game with a 4-6 record after their 24-0 non-league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC).

The Patriots (1-6) will now prepare for their game against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses enter the Western Highlands 1A/2A game with a 1-7 record. In their last game, Owen ran past Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC), 50-49, in a non-league game.
