The Purvis Tornadoes basketball team scored 57 points and held the host St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws to 53 in the Tornadoes non-league triumph on Friday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Jones for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 14. Purvis will battle a Tigers team coming off a 46-38 non-league win over Sylva Bay Academy (Bay Springs, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.

The Rock-a-Chaws (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against St. Martin (Ocean Springs, MS). The Yellow Jackets enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record.
