In Friday's non-league match, the host Vela Sabercats basketball team scored a tight 58-57 triumph over the Lee Volunteers.

In their next game, the Sabercats meet the Stevens Falcons (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league match, on Friday, November 11. Vela will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Falcons enter the match with a 4-0 record after their 87-57 non-league win over Cigarroa (Laredo, TX).
