Elgin Wildcats (Elgin, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host McCallum Knights (Austin, TX), 52-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Elgin upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Wildcats host Waco (Waco, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, November 17. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Knights play the Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 14. McCallum will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 72-61 non-league win over Akins (Austin, TX).
