The Progreso Red Ants basketball team scored 41 points and held the visiting Vanguard Academy Rembrandt Spartans to 38 in the Red Ants non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Red Ants now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Raymondville for a non-league contest on Friday, November 17. Progreso will meet a Bearkats team coming off a 69-47 non-league loss to Lyford (Lyford, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 0-1.

The Spartans (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Santa Maria (Santa Maria, TX). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
