The Vela Sabercats defeated the host Nixon Mustangs basketball squad by a final score of 52-39 in Thursday's non-league outing.

Next, the Sabercats clash with the Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) in a non-league outing, on Tuesday, November 19. Vela will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Toros come into the outing with a 3-1 record after their 39-34 non-league win over Brackenridge (San Antonio, TX).

The Mustangs (2-2) will now prepare for their outing against Alexander (Laredo, TX). The Bulldogs come into the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Alexander was topped by Palmview (La Joya, TX), 59-55, in a non-league contest.
