The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC) basketball edged the visiting Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes (Wilmington, NC), 65-61 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Crusaders now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Hillside for a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 18.

With the loss, Cape Fear Academy falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Crossroads Christian (Henderson, NC) to play the Colts in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 15. The Colts go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Crossroads Christian won 95-30 in their recent non-league bout against Ridgecroft (Ahoskie, NC)
