In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Covington Trojans basketball team scored a close 31-25 win over the South Newton Rebels.

The Trojans (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Riverton Parke (Montezuma, IN). The Panthers come into the Wabash River match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, Riverton Parke was nudged by Parke Heritage (Rockville, IN), 30-27, in a non-league match.

The Rebels now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hebron for a non-league match on Wednesday, November 19. South Newton will face a Hawks squad coming off a 41-33 league loss to Boone Grove (Valparaiso, IN). The Hawks record now stands at 0-2.
