The Vela Sabercats edged the visiting Veterans Memorial Chargers basketball team by a tally of 48-47 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Sabercats now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Palmview for a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 18. Vela will play a Lobos team coming off a 41-33 non-league loss to Cigarroa (Laredo, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Veterans Memorial moves to 3-3 on the season. The Chargers travel to Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to play the Lobos in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 18.
