Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the McDonald County Mustangs (Anderson, MO) and the host Hillcrest Hornets (Springfield, MO), saw McDonald County's basketball squad hold off Hillcrest by a tally of 49-43.

With the victory, McDonald County improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Nevada (Nevada, MO) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, November 28. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Nevada won 47-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Lebanon (Lebanon, MO)

Next up, the Hornets play the Buffalo Bison (Buffalo, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 4. Hillcrest will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
