Morro Bay Pirates (Morro Bay, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Sierra Chieftains (Tollhouse, CA), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Morro Bay upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host Justin Garza (Fresno, CA) to play the Guardians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 28. The Guardians come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Justin Garza won 56-29 in their recent non-league bout against McLane (Fresno, CA)

Next up, the Chieftains play the Reedley Pirates (Reedley, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, November 20. Sierra will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 50-21 non-league win over Santa Maria (Santa Maria, CA).
