Illinois High School Basketball - Plainfield Central nips Morris
November 19, 2025: Plainfield, IL 60544 In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Plainfield Central Wildcats basketball team scored a close 50-48 triumph over the Morris .
The Wildcats (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL). The Chargers go into the non-league contest with a 3-0 record.
In their next game, the battle the Streator Bulldogs (Streator, IL) in a non-league contest, on Monday, November 24. Morris will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 0-2 record after their 50-14 non-league loss to Seneca (Seneca, IL).
First Quarter
Wildcats took an early 1st quarter lead with 3's from Link and White.
Second Quarter
Second quarter was controlled on the arc by the sharp shooting of Mia White and Alyssa Link. Both with 2 more triples in the second quarter. Morris closed the half on their own run closing deficit to 10 at the half.
Third Quarter
Morris came out in the 3rd quarter and looked to over power the Wildcats with their size inside. Plainfield had no answer for the size of Hansen as she scored 10 of her 12 points in the 3rd quarter. Morris outscored the Wildcats 19 to 14 in the 3rd but the long ball kept the Wildcats with the lead going into the 4th quarter.
Fourth Quarter
In the 4th quarter Morris was able to tie the game. But the Wildcats were able to battle back and earn the 1st win of the season behind a complete team effort all around.
