Texas High School Basketball - Goliad nips Corpus Christi United
November 20, 2023: Goliad, TX 77963 Goliad Tigers (Goliad, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Corpus Christi United Watchmen (Corpus Christi, TX), 35-34 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Goliad upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Tigers host Kenedy (Kenedy, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 21. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 0-0.
Next up, the Watchmen play the John Paul II Centurions (Corpus Christi, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Corpus Christi United will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.

34-33, versus Goliad JV on Monday.
Josh Jones was the top scorer for Watchmen United JV with 11 points, but it wasn't enough to secure the win.
Trailing 20-11, Goliad JV went on an 8-point run to close the gap. Watchmen United JV had a strong first half, leading 20-13 at halftime, but couldn't keep up the pace and ultimately fell in the end.
Watchmen United JV had four assists in the first quarter, as they outscored Goliad JV 13-6.
Watchmen United JV controlled the paint, grabbing 26 rebounds. Samuel Macias led the team with nine rebounds. Watchmen United JV swiped 21 steals in the game. Brett Bouma led the team with five steals.
