In Monday's non-league outing, the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC), by a margin of 72-47.

The Patriots (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Hawks go into the non-league outing with a 0-1 record. In their last outing, West Mecklenburg was trounced by Berry (Charlotte, NC), 61-38, in a non-league outing.

The Comets now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to Cannon for a non-league outing on Tuesday, November 22. Carolina International will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 64-58 non-league win over Cox Mill (Concord, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-1.
