Georgia High School Basketball - Oglethorpe County nudges Athens Academy
November 21, 2023: Lexington, GA 30648 Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA), 50-43 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Oglethorpe County upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Patriots host Monsignor Donovan Catholic (Athens, GA) to clash with the Rams in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 25. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Monsignor Donovan Catholic won 75-46 in their recent non-league bout against Southwest Atlanta Christian (Atlanta, GA)
Next up, the Spartans clash with the Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 28. Athens Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 61-54 non-league win over Palmetto (Williamston, SC).
