November 21, 2023: Lithia, FL 33547 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the McLaughlin Phoenix (Lake Wales, FL) and the host Newsome Wolves (Lithia, FL), saw McLaughlin's basketball squad hold off Newsome by a tally of 53-50.
With the victory, McLaughlin improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Vanguard (Lake Wales, FL) to confront the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Monday, November 27. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.
Next up, the Wolves confront the Sumner Stingrays (Riverview, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 2. Newsome will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Stingrays come into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 45-38 non-league loss to Plant (Tampa, FL).
