The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), observed Independence's basketball team overcome Porter Ridge by a margin of 62-44.

The Patriots (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against West Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Wolverines come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, West Cabarrus defeated Providence (Charlotte, NC), 53-41, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates battle the Lincoln Charter Eagles (Denver, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, November 22. Porter Ridge will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 67-55 non-league loss to Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC).
