Cross Plains Buffaloes (Cross Plains, TX) backers went home pleased Friday as they observed their basketball team edge the visiting Baird Bears (Baird, TX), 46-40 in a non-league contest.

The Buffaloes (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Aspermont (Aspermont, TX). The Hornets come into the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Aspermont edged Paducah (Paducah, TX), 63-38, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bears battle the Rising Star Wildcats (Rising Star, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 2. Baird will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record.
